It’s Not Trump. It Wasn’t Obama.

America isn’t divided because of what President Trump tweets or because of what President Obama said.  America is divided because we are different and we refuse to acknowledge, challenge, or confront those differences.

So the boys are over sports... but they were beyond excited for the Black History celebration at church today. I let them choose who they wanted to be. RK has been reading a lot about Dr. Martin Luther King and chose him immediately. Jimmy chose Benjamin Banneker, mathematician, astronomer, and surveyor. They even chose accessories. RK asked for a tie. Jimmy chose safety glasses since Mr. Banneker was always building things. My guys. ❤️
Basketball season is over. The Flames won one game all season. Jimmy says he never wants to play sports again. RK said he wants to be an acrobat. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Richard and I learned a lot about patience and parenting. The boys are ready to make lifetime decisions over one bad season. I wonder if we do the same thing to God. We have one bad season-relationship, semester, tragedy, tryout, audition, business failure, friendship mishap, financial loss-and we're ready to throw in the towel on our gifts and talents. Man, kids really teach you so much...
Who's that girl? She's a daughter, sister, friend, mother, auntie, future-Gebo, world explorer, never a dull moment, life of the party, entrepreneur, extremely hard worker, highly intelligent , beautiful, and generous soul. Happy Birthday @coachgeemelvin !!!!! Love you so much!
My Jimmy turns 7 today! What a blessing and joy he is to our family. He's so energetic, sincere, and family-focused. He's loyal, protective, and super-curious. He loves reading, running, and jumping, wearing random gloves 🤷🏽‍♀️, holding big stuffed Pikachus-and just being himself. He's such a gift. I made an acronym with his name and had a hard time finding a Y-word. I came across yare: quick, eager, and lively. Yes indeed, Jimmy is a yare individual. ❤️
What a glorious day. Chas took Mom and me to the SC/LSU game, and Gee surprised us afterward for dinner. My heart is full. These moments don't come often. ♥️
